This could be an electrical issue or a mechanical issue. We need to figure out which one it is.
You might have some stray voltage on the wires that feed your softer tray water valve. Try disconnecting the wires and see if the drippings stops. If so, it's an electrical issue.
As far as mechanical. It may be a bad seat on the water valve that feeds your softener tray. Or possibly a slight rip on the diaphragm.
My guess is that you have a bad water valve seat. You can take it apart to find the problem. Or, if you have a spare, change it out. If you don't have a spare you can swap the valve on a similar machine and see if the problems moves.
Best wishes,

Yes it does fill and drain correctly but just drips fabric softener the whole time during the wash cycle.

Does the softener tray fill up with clean water when not in use? If so, you have a leaking water fill valve.

Chris,
Remove the top of the washer. Remove the white backflow preventer cover (3/4" x 6") in the supply dispenser just behind the softener and bleach compartments. See if water is dripping from the nozzle for the softener compartment. If yes, follow the black hose back to the softener valve which has failed to close completely.

I have some issues with my softener tray dripping slowly during the whole wash cycle. We are using Huebsch washers. I tried cleaning out the tray and still no luck. Any suggestions?
