I have an old vinyl floor mat. Still looks good. Just don't put in washer. The G force from spin cycle will fold and crease backing and then it comes apart. I clean mine with a power washer and hang to drip dry. I brush surface dirt with a stiff broom on a daily basis. ------------------------------ ...

As a dry cleaner we also clean and press shirts. IMHO a presoak is not necessary but a longer wash will allow the detergent to break down and suspend dirt. I would have a long wash cycle with 2 rinse. In our Laundrymat we have new Dexters and run them factory settings and everybody say the clean better ...

I remember seeing on the news in San Francisco Bay Area that new construction floors had textured areas that gave the blind sense of feel when corners were approaching so they know when to turn. I too an a dry cleaner and Laundrymat owner. It looks like an oil stain. Could be from lip balm. Either way, apply either Dawn and let soak over night or use a waterless hand cleaner like GoJo for mechanics. Use the smooth lotion without pumice. Hardware store or auto parts store. Not knowing exactly what happens in which sequence my first go to would be the flame sensor. Looks like a heavy gauge wire attached to or near spark ignitor. Simply clean it off with scuff pad. Do not use sand paper. Re attach and clean ground wires too. Check spark module for blinking lights and codes. ...

You mean there are more than 1? I had that problem couple of years ago. A lady would pry open the lint doors and collect the lint. She would walk on the doors bending them. She pulled wires off sensors. I wired the alarm to lint doors and caught her in the act. Police said she had a compulsive disorder ...

Two more things to check are this. Look inside drum with a flashlight. Look for a credit card or something that can float over drain opening in sump before it drops into the drain. Second, confirm that discharge hose after drain is clear. Bra wires can work past drain just to collect lint before the ...

I like to tell people I've been in the laundry business for over 50 years! Mom and Dad bought the shop back in 1964 and yes I was a little boy pushing a broom. Today it's mine and I'm currently redoing electrical and gutting the galvanized pipes to change over to copper. 50 year old pipe was corroded ...

In my city the inspectors are more concerned about a crack in the sewer main. What they do is a smoke check. They plug the sewer main and pump in smoke to see where it leaks out of. Small rugs are fine but be careful about the vinyl back mats. The tapered edges will crack and break off. Without having the above machine to clean the best way is to power wash and then hang to dry.
