Bryce, I had same concerns about all that cold air coming in when dryers not in use.  I motorized my bank of dampers on fresh air intake and then tied them to amp sensors on dryer's circuit breakers. Really not that complicated. Now I'm only taking in appropriate amount of air for dryer to operate efficiently.  ...

I order these 1000 at a time for under $2. I hand them out to everyone that comes through my doors, at events and donate a bunch to community charities. The neighboring businesses kick in a $1 each to have their names on the bags. Net cost zero and I have the neighborhood plastered with these things.  ...

I have the CCI F2 because I feel taking every form of payment is mission critical to remain relevant in this industry. Mostly what you would expect.  The younger people use the app, the 40-60 crowd use the re-loadable wash card, and seniors mainly using credit cards.  I still take both quarters and dollar ...

Hey Blaine, I mainly upgraded to F2 because it handles a second coin drop. I wanted to add dc and not  alienate those people who bring their own quarters.  I own the  convenience store across the parking lot where we sell preloaded $10 and $20 cards as well as cash reloading. Credit card to loyalty account ...

Hey John, I have the Fascard system in my unattended store and it seems to be fairly easy for customers to operate.  I put a monitor running an instructional video on top of the bulkheads for assistance.  I have both quarter and dollar coin drops on all machines.  With the readers I can also accecpt ...

Cliff, I have had Fascard for six years with only minor repairs like a display or swipe reader.  Pretty cheap and easy parts swap.  I recently upgraded to their F2 readers not because the F!s were worn, because I wanted the new tech. Fascard is the only system I've had, so I can't compare, but I am a ...

Hey Chris, I have had CCI readers for almost 5 years now.  Very reliable, it is the coins jamming that cause all the customer complaints.  I offer a discount to use loyalty card or download app.  This helps reduce coins coming into store and all the associated cash handling hassles. ------------------------------ ...

24/7 works for me because I own the convenience store across the lot. So the laundry isn't attended directly, but monitored by cameras from there. We can holler over a speaker or even run over real quick if we have to. I put the 20 pounders only 1/2 price midnight to 6am. Sales can be erratic though. ...

I also grew tired of explaining the preauthorization, so I just dropped it and raised prices a quarter to cover the swipe fee. You are so right Paulie, I just went through this on a SQ 30lb.  The dreaded EUB error had me swapping drain value and circuit boards around.  I spent most of a day on it.  Finally I noticed it was one of two machines that had an extra 2' of drain with 2-90 degree elbows to make it to the trough. Yep, ...

I switched from F! to F2 a few weeks ago with no problems.  I did use a reader for each pocket so I can use dual coin drop as well. I love the feature that allows me to discount credit card users.  By charging a higher price for coins should help reduce cash coming into the store and all the associated ...

I started over four years ago as a hybrid store, and I can't imagine not accepting whatever payments my customers want to use. I run about 1/3 each coin, cc, mobile app.  On busy days even less cash.  I just upgraded to the fascard F2 readers and can now have different pricing for payment types.  I know ...

I did this at my store when I opened it 4 years ago. Here is what mine looks like.  Four sets of motorized dampers engaged to power by four relays. Relays activated by amp sensors or coils (look like small donuts) that you run a group of dryers power wires through, most conveintally in the breaker panel.  ...

Chris, Hybrid offers flexibility and sustainability. Very interesting subject with lots of variables.
